Introduction to Nutrition - 4 week course November 2013

This beginner course aims to provide an overview of the key basic concepts of nutrition. The subjects covered will include:

Introduction to Nutrition
Macronutrients and their role
Micronutrients and their role
General health and disease
Nutritional requirements and dietary analysis
Separating the truth from the crazy and debunking current nutrition myths
Planning yours and your families nutrition

By the end of the course you will have a good understanding of basic nutrition as well as the knowledge to make better food choices for you and your family.

Course places will be limited and there will be no cost involved. Each session will be a maximum of 2 hours long and the sessions will be spaced 2 weeks apart (dates TBC) with recommended reading in between to prepare for the next session. At the end of the programme there will be a quiz type test as well as a practical piece of work to complete.

The goal will be to progress on to the intermediate nutrition course at a later date or one of the more specialist courses ran by Nourish.

The start date for course 1 will be 27th November and each session will start at 6.30pm lasting between 2 and 2.5 hours long.
